Kanawha County Schools Rant!

As many of you know we are extemly displeased with Kanawha County Schools. We have had nothing but problems this year. Don't know if it has anything to do with the new Principal at the school or what,seeing as how we did not have this issue last year when Michael finished up Kindergarten at the same school with the old Principal.

We were just informed yesterday that Michaels class will be getting their 5th teacher of the year starting sometime within the next 2 weeks. Seriously??!!

Backstory

1st teacher took the job knowing she was moving several counties away within a month.

My question to that is WHY TAKE THE JOB or better yet WHY GIVE THEM THE JOB??? We're talking abour fragile 1st graders here people, not high schoolers who can possibly deal better with change. We're talking about kids who are just entering their 2nd year of school!

2nd teacher we all loved and she was ther for 2 months. She ended up getting replaced by someone that they "overlooked" as being more "eligible" for the job based on seniority so they took her out and placed the 3rd teacher in.

3rd teacher has medical problems , out of her control and goes on bedrest by Dr.....after a week.

So here we are, not yet Christmas Break , or even Thanksgiving for what I can remember, and he's already got 4 teachers.

She's in place still to this day but we were informed as of March 1st they will be given their 5th teacher!!!! All because this one is about to lose her Social Security Benefits!!! Seriosusly you are just now remembering this?? After signing up to teach for the rest of the year you are afraid of losing you ssi?? Wow what a great system we have in place.

I can't even begin to type out how mad I am and let down by the school I went to. Just add this to the list of "things that have had great nrgative impact on our lives after moving to Cross Lanes to help out family that ended up not needing the help". Which btw that list is rather long to begin with...now the fate of my childs learning abilities lies on it!

Hope a certain family member is happy she's "living her dreams". Glad to help!

Birthday Party Time!

Last week we had a birthday party at the South Charleston Rec Center...

Mostly because they got to go swimming!

Thanks to Erin for swimming with the kids and saving the onlookers eyes of seeing me in a bathing suit!

One Year Ago Today...

A good friend/co-worker of mine passed away suddenly after suffering what was believed to have been a heart attack.
The same man who walked on his break/lunch/break every day, the same man who would get up early and walk around Hurricane every morning before coming to work.... died of a heart attack!

Today we had a memorial walk around our work places walking track , that was dedicated to him shortly after his passing. His mother and father were there and wife (who was stuck at work) was there with us in spirit.

We had a good remembrance and silent walk around the track in the frigid temperatures. Only fitting, as how he never cared what the weather was, if it was his break... he'd be walking!

I had the pleasure of working below (he was my Lead/supervisor) him for well over a year, in 2 different sections of the call center.

This man was a peacemaker when it came to us WVU fans vs Marshall fans.
He was a friend to anyone who needed one.
He was a good person to know and to set next to. You could always count on him being in a good mood. Of course he was in a good mood, he was a Christian and knew where he'd be going. Little did we all know that this young man, in his early early 40's, would be leaving this earth so soon to be with our Heavenly Father.

Alan, I know you're up there and I can't wait to take a lap around the pearly gates when I get there!
